RATS NEED FOOD, WATER AND SHELTER TO SURVIVE

The unused non customer facing parts of commercial premises often get overlooked. This site based in Milton Keynes has had an ongoing issue with rats. In these circumstances our initial advice is always to leave the rubbish and undergrowth exactly as it is so the rats do not have a neophobic reaction to the method of pest control that we deem is most applicable (neophobia is the fear and avoidance of new objects).

Once the pest control has been in place for 28 days we suggest that the undergrowth and rubbish is cleared, this is a service that iQ Pest Control provide to our customers. The neighbouring premises may also need to be persuaded to improve their housekeeping, as was the case at this site. This large industrial estate based in Milton Keynes has a variety of business industry types operating, such as food production sites, manufacturing facilities and office blocks. Rats will travel from their harbourage sites up to 300 metres to reach their regular food sources, but they often will often centre their burrows as close to their food sources as possible.

If you and/or your neighbouring premises allow their facilities to create a perfect environment for rodents to live, breed and thrive it may only be a matter of time before you have rats or mice in your building. If you would like to arrange for iQ Pest Control to survey your site please call 01280 811198 to arrange your appointment.

Rats and mice need food, water and shelter. If you can remove all 3 of these it is much less likely that you will have an issue with rodents around your commercial premises or your home.
